Kemetershore lies on the Rurstausee near Hasenfeld in Kreis Düren. Access is informal, on foot from surrounding reservoir paths and public parking areas. There is no marked entrance, gate or admission control. After parking, allow time to walk to the water and look for a suitable open spot along the natural bank. The ground is grass, earth and gravel, so sturdy footwear helps, along with a mat or blanket for sitting. Public transport in the Eifel reservoir area is limited. Regional bus and rail links leave a longer walk, so most visitors arrive by car and continue on foot. The shore has no adapted paths, toilets, showers, shelters, lifeguards or food outlets. Bring drinking water, food, sun protection, swim shoes and bags for waste, and plan to carry everything out. Swimming is in natural reservoir water. There is no marked swimming zone and no supervision. Water levels and underwater ground can change, so enter carefully, stay in shallow areas unless confident, and avoid swimming alone. Children need close supervision. Daylight hours are the practical time to visit. Summer from June to August gives warmer air and water and longer days. Outside that period the shore can be cool, windy and quiet. Use is generally low, with more people on warm weekends. Since the shore is public and open, keep noise low, keep dogs under control, and leave space between groups. Take note of reservoir rules posted on access paths and respect woodland and shoreline protection. Carry a phone, basic first aid, and enough daylight margin for the walk back to parking.
