Barra Seca is reached by private car or taxi from Linhares through a private access road. Parking is located near the entrance and pousada area, so bring what is needed for the sand in one trip. There is no direct public transport, so plan return travel in advance. Access is generally during daylight hours, and entrance control can limit very early or late entry. The beach has open sand backed by dunes and vegetation. The surface is sand throughout, with uneven paths that are not adapted for reduced mobility. Natural shade is limited near the dunes and there are few man-made shelters, while sun exposure on the open sand is high. Morning and late afternoon visits offer milder sun and lower temperatures. The drier period from May to September is often more comfortable, although the tropical coast stays warm year-round and summer months are hotter, more humid and wetter. Swimming is in the Atlantic with moderate waves and variable currents linked to wind and tide. There is no regular lifeguard service, so swimming is at own risk and caution is needed. Facilities are basic. Toilets and showers are near the pousada and entrance area rather than on the open beach. Simple food and drinks are available at kiosks near the entrance, with limited options on the sand itself. Visitors commonly stay for a half day or full day. Overnight stays are possible at the nearby pousada under separate arrangements. Dogs are generally not permitted on the naturist beach area.
