Platja des Cavallet lies south of Ibiza town in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, in the Balearic Islands. Access is mainly by private vehicle or bicycle, followed by an unpaved track and a short walk to the sand. There is an unpaved parking area near the access, and capacity is limited in summer, so an early arrival helps. There is no direct public transport to the beach. The beach has open access at all times, with no gate and no admission fee expected for beach access. The surface is sand, with a sandy entry into generally clear water. Waves and clarity depend on wind, and the open shore has little shelter when conditions change. The beach is busy in summer and quieter outside peak season. Morning and late afternoon offer milder sun and fewer people, while midday brings high sun exposure with limited shade. Visits often last a few hours for swimming and sunbathing, with time on the sand shaped by sun, wind, and crowd levels through the day. Bring water, sun protection, and a shade cover because natural shade is scarce, especially around midday when exposure is highest. Food and drink options near the beach may be limited and seasonal, so carry supplies for the full length of the stay rather than relying on nearby services. Facilities are few, with no extensive development, so plan for limited services before arrival. Uneven tracks and soft sand make movement difficult for wheelchairs and strollers, particularly on the final walk to the sand. The best period for warm sea swimming and sunbathing is generally June to September. Outside that period expect cooler air, quieter sand, and reduced services, with fewer people and a calmer shoreline.
