Nida Nudist Beach

Nida Nudist Beach sits on the sea side of the Curonian Spit, south of Smiltyne and close to the town of Nida. Most visitors arrive by car or bus after crossing from Klaipeda by ferry to Smiltyne. From Smiltyne, the main spit road runs south through forest toward Nida. Entry through the Curonian Spit National Park involves a road toll. Near Nida, organised parking areas serve the sea beaches. From parking, marked boardwalks cross the dunes to the sand. Stay on marked paths to protect dune plants. Public transport follows the same ferry link. Buses connect Smiltyne with Nida, with more regular departures in summer and limited service in cooler months. Allow extra time for ferry waits, toll stops and the dune walk. The beach itself is open white sand with little shade. Bring sun and wind protection, warm layers, swim gear, towels, food and drinking water. There are toilets, changing booths, water taps and trash bins near the beach, but no kiosks or restaurants reported. The Baltic water is clear but cold through summer, and waves and wind can develop quickly. Midday and early afternoon usually feel warmest. The summer window of July to August offers the most comfortable air temperatures, though cool and windy days remain possible. Outside summer, services are reduced and conditions are colder. Pack out rubbish, secure belongings against wind-blown sand, and check ferry and bus schedules before a day trip. Dune boardwalks can feel exposed in wind and sun, so move steadily, protect belongings from blowing sand, keep to marked access, and leave fragile dune plants undisturbed throughout the visit.
