Water is cool even in summer and can have wind-driven waves, so wading and swimming call for caution, especially as no lifeguards are posted on this section. The Baltic climate is cool to mild, with the most comfortable conditions from June to August; outside summer it is often windy and cool. Early morning and late afternoon offer softer sun and fewer visitors, while midday brings high exposure on open sand with reflective water. Shade is scarce, limited to low dunes and sparse vegetation, with no permanent shade structures. Facilities are minimal on the naturist stretch, with no consistent toilets, showers or food and drink vendors. Bring water, supplies and sun protection, and plan to use services in Lielupe and central Jūrmala. Parking is informal near dune access points, and paid parking may apply in parts of Jūrmala, so check signage and bring cash or card. Public transport is via the Jūrmala rail line to Lielupe station then on foot, with local buses serving the wider area. Dogs may be restricted on main bathing beaches in summer, so check local signage and keep dogs leashed away from crowded bathing areas. Typical stays are 2 to 4 hours for sunbathing and wading, longer on warm calm days.
