FKK Strand Altmühlsee

The FKK section lies on the shore of Altmühlsee, a reservoir lake in Franconia. Access is open during daylight via lakeside paths, with public parking areas around the lake and a short walk to the water. If you arrive by public transport, take a regional train to Gunzenhausen and continue by local bus, bicycle or on foot along the lake circuit, checking current schedules before you travel. Remain within the marked naturist area and follow posted signs at boundaries and paths. The surface is grass and sand, mostly flat and open. There is limited natural shade, so sun protection is important, especially at midday and in the afternoon when conditions are warmest for swimming and sunbathing. Water is calm freshwater, generally shallow near shore, suitable for wading and half-day stays for swimming, sunbathing and walking. No dedicated lifeguard service is expected at the naturist section, so supervise swimmers closely and secure belongings in the open public setting. Facilities are basic. Basic toilets may be available nearby around the lake, but showers are not assured at the section itself. Food and drink options near the section are limited, so bring water and supplies. No separate admission fee is generally expected for the beach area, but parking may be charged. The warmest lake conditions are in summer, from June to August; outside these months it is cooler and can be windy. Weekends on hot days are the busiest, while weekdays are quieter. Bring sun shelter, drinking water and swim supplies because shade and shops near the section remain limited.
