Delta de la Tordera

Delta de la Tordera is the natural sand beach at the Tordera river mouth near Malgrat de Mar in Catalonia, Spain. The area is open with free access from the beach and no gates, so visits take place throughout the day. The surface is sand with natural uneven ground and little shade, and there are no adapted access routes or facilities for visitors with limited mobility. There is no dedicated parking at the delta itself, so visitors use parking in Malgrat de Mar and continue on foot along the shore. Public transport involves train service to Malgrat de Mar followed by walking to the delta area, which makes comfortable footwear and light packing practical. The best period for settled beach weather is June to September, with morning and late afternoon offering milder sun and quieter conditions. Strong open sun exposure is normal, so sun protection, water and food are essential because there are no food or drink outlets, toilets, showers or regular lifeguard service at the natural area. Sea swimming is in open water near a river mouth, where currents and clarity can vary, so cautious entry, staying in shallow water and avoiding the river channel are sensible. The beach is generally quiet with low visitor density, and half-day visits for swimming and walking are common. Naturist use is tolerated in parts of the delta beach, generally away from other groups, so choose a spot with clear space from others. Take everything away with you, as no services are expected on the sand.
