Ag Nikolaos Beach (Spoa) is an undeveloped pebble and rock beach on Karpathos, reached by road from Spoa followed by a short walk on an uneven coastal path. Stay on established paths and respect adjacent land. Parking is limited and informal near the access path, with a short walk to the shore. No direct public transport is reported, so a private vehicle or taxi is normally needed. There is no admission fee and no organized paid section. There are no sunbeds, toilets, showers, lifeguards, or food and drink service, so bring water and supplies from Spoa or larger settlements. The surface is pebbles and rock, with a pebbly and rocky seabed and generally clear water. Conditions vary with wind and swell, and afternoons can be windier than mornings. Morning to early afternoon offers calmer water and easier swimming. Swimming is unsupervised. Little natural shade is available, and sun exposure is high through midday with reflection from pebbles and water. Bring sun protection, as umbrellas or trees are not reliably available. The small cove layout gives relative privacy but limited shelter. Watch for rocks, sea swell and sun exposure. June to September is warmest and driest for swimming, while shoulder months are cooler with stronger wind and rougher water. Short stays of two to four hours are practical. Daytime use in the swimming season is normal, with no fixed opening hours established. Access is uneven and unsuitable for limited mobility, with no adapted facilities reported.
